The Runner's Prayer

Thank you, Coach, for this great day!
And all the ways you've made me pay

Now as practice comes to an end
My poor legs can mend again

For tomorrow I can run in happy shoes
That will have to sprint every path you choose

But HA! You see, I have won
'Cause I'm still alive and practice is done!!!

Although I'm sad, I can not flee
I still want to be the best me I can be

So, next time when I lay me down for streching
I'll know it'll be another day for retching.
