After the Septathalon had been scheduled, it was revealed that one of the Valley Runner of the Year series runs, the Race Justicata in Clovis, was to be held the same weekend. In recognition of the many famous road races that the MAD FIGS took part in during high school, it was decided that the traditional Adventure Race course would be skipped in favor of the 5k event.
